Remember the Nokia 3310? Appears it will be back soon

The iconic Nokia 3310 feature phone is set for a re-launch at Mobile World Congress later this month.

HMD Global may launch four new Nokia phones at MWC later this month.

Noted leakster Evan Blass today claimed that HMD Global, a new company consisting of former Nokia employees, will launch four new Nokia phones at Mobile World Congress on 26th February. While three of them will be mid-range devices, the fourth one will certainly be a surprise.

Five reasons why we love the new Nokia 6

The expected ones will be the Nokia 6, of which we have heard before, the Nokia 5 and a budget-range Nokia 3. Nokia 6 was previously launched in China and is priced at around £200. The phone features a durable Aluminium grade 6000 series unibody which is a result of two separate anodising processes, 64GB of internal storage, 4GB of RAM, a 2.5D Gorilla Glass case, a large 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 16-MP rear camera featuring Phase Detection Autofocus and f/2.0 aperture and an 8-MP front cam.

Nokia 6 also features Hi-Fi audio support, dual amplifiers and Dolby Atmos which creates moving audio which flows around users. The phone also fields a powerful 3,000 mAh battery and a Snapdragon™ 430 processor with X6 LTE modem.

According to Blass, Nokia 5 will be a slightly toned down version of the Nokia 6 and will be €50 cheaper than the latter. It'll feature a 5.2-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM and a 12-MP main camera. While specifications of the cheaper Nokia 3 aren't available, Blass claims that it'll be priced at around €149.

The flavour of Mobile World Congress will, however, be the Nokia 3310. It's earlier namesake launched a decade and a half ago but that doesn't mean people have forgotten it, and neither have Nokia. HMD Global will be launching a newer version of the 3310 which will remain a feature phone and will retain the main characteristics of its namesake, namely a long battery life and aa highly durable body. Blass hasn't mentioned if there will be any new features in the 3310 but did mention that it will cost just €59.

Nokia 8: Specs, features and availability

Back in January, HMD Global launched the Nokia 8 at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, revealing superior audio quality, impressive build quality and premium specifications but the contract manufacturer also said that it intends to offer the best mobile experience at every price point and will unveil more Nokia smartphones before the end of the year. Thanks to new leaks, it seems they are convinced that their road to success could be through the mid-range and budget phone markets.
