Huawei released its first smartwatch in the UK back in November of 2015 but didn't launch a follow-on device in 2016. But company sources have now confirmed that Huawei's second smartwatch will launch shortly and will release in the UK anytime between April and May of this year.
LG smartwatch could be first with Android Wear 2
While the source didn't elaborate on how the watch will look like or what its specifications will be, other leaks and rumours have suggested that it will feature a circular face and will run Google's latest Android Wear 2.0 wearable OS. Venture Beat recently claimed that at least one Huawei Watch 2 variant will feature cellular capability like Samsung's Gear S2 and Gear S3 smartwatches and may arrive with built-in cellular data.

The original Huawei Watch arrived in two variants- a Classic one with black leather almond tip and Huawei Watch Active with Black-plated stainless steel link. It featured a circular 1.4-inch touch-sensitive AMOLED display encased in a 42mm round steel frame with a crown at two o’clock position. Venture Beat claims that the new smartwatch will feature a sportier design compared to its predecessor.
Thanks to its design concept, it may also compete with Samsung's Gear S3 Frontier which is ideal for travellers, adventurers and explorers who would want to sport a rugged smartwatch while trekking, hiking or simply swimming. Not only does it look 'rugged', it also features an IP68 water proof rating and its glass display is sheathed by Gorilla® Glass SR+, a glass specially designed to protect wearable displays from external conditions.
