Honor 6X is a Huawei Mate 9 lookalike at £225!

Honor today launched the Honor 6X, its latest mid-range smartphone which shares an uncanny resemblance with the recently released Huawei Mate 9.

The phablet-sized Honor 6X is the first under-£250 phone to feature dual rear cameras and a battery life of over two days.

Ever since Huawei launched the P9 and P9 Plus phones, both Huawei and Honor phones, be it the Honor 8 or the Mate 9, have features duar rear cameras. The story is no different with the just-launched Honor 6X, Honor's mid-range offering for the new year with a longer than ever battery life and a power-efficient processor.

Honor 6X dual rear camera setup consists of a 12-MP main camera featuring phase autofocus and LED flash along with a standard 2-MP secondary camera. Honor's new Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) camera technology ensures low noise in low light photos and suppresses blur. The cameras can focus in as low as 0.3 seconds thanks to Phase Detection Autofocus Technology and its Wide Aperture mode also enables various levels of customisation.

Honor 6X features an octa-core Kirin 655 processor featuring four 2.1GHz cores for online browsing and gaming and four 1.7GHz cores for other tasks and for long standby. The concept is based on Apple's processor technology whereby the A10 Fusion chip comes with both performance-based as well as power efficient cores to ensure longer usage and better power efficiency. To add to it, Honor 6X also includes a powerful 3,340 mAh battery which lets the phone run for as long as 2.2 days under normal usage on a single charge.

Other features of the Honor 6X include a 2.5D curved 5.5-inch Full HD display, a premium glass finish, a Wi-Fi Bridge EMUI feature which enhances the range of Wi-Fi signals, thus letting the phone function as a Wi-Fi transmitter, a fingerprint sensor, 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. Given that it is presently the only under-£250 phone featuring a dual rear camera setup, it should feature among the most popular mid-range smartphones of 2017, unless other brands usurp the throne with fresh features and capabilities.

Honor 6X can now be purchased at www.vmall.eu and Amazon.co.uk in Gold, Grey and Silver colours and will cost you just £224.99. If you're thinking of buying it with a 24-month contract, the phone will be stocked by network Three later this month. We will let you know about Three's deals and offerings with the Honor 6X once the network makes an announcement.
