When Apple introduced AirPods to the public, it announced that AirPods would be commercially available from late October at £159. However, we all know that Apple later delayed it further and as per the latest reports, AirPods won't be available to purchase until January of next year.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the delay in production of AirPods is because of an audio-syncing issue which means that Apple is struggling to enable iPhones and iPads to transmit music to both AirPods at the same time. Unless Apple is able to ensure that both AirPods receive music from devices at the same time, there seems to be no point for Apple to start selling them in large numbers.
AirPods, based on advanced wireless Bluetooth technology, are of the same size as Apple's traditional EarPods but lack the wires which keep you connected with your iPhone or iPad. Once fully charged, these AirPods can let you listen to music wirelessly for five hours but if you are carrying the portable case along, you will be able to recharge the AirPods for a much longer usage. The maximum life of the AirPods, including boost provided by the case, is 24 hours and Siri will let you know about the battery status if you ask her about it.
Featuring revolutionary W1 chips, AirPods come with voice accelerometers with noise cancellation, letting you give crisp voice commands to your connected iPhone or Apple Watch without interference from external sounds. Thanks to a range of sensors, the AirPods are also programmed to start playing music or pause them whenever you put the AirPods in or out of your ears, thus conserving battery life and also saving you from putting in the effort of playing and pausing music manually.
AirPods look like a great start made by Apple in the wireless field. In the course of time, upgraded versions of the accessory may feature longer battery lives, better design, enhanced audio quality and better range and connectivity. What's even better is that you will be able to use Apple's wireless technology to connect many other wireless earphones or headphones to your iPhones if you don't like the look or feel of the AirPods.
