EE launches 'new and improved' 4G tablet Robin for children

EE has followed up Robin, its 4G tablet for parents and children with a new and improved one with free access to Hopster for three months.

The new Robin is more durable thanks to a child-proof bumper and comes with multiplayer motion gaming.

When the original Robin tablet was launched on 20th October of last year by EE, it let children access a world of entertainment and gaming content with simple parental controls. It arrived with a Kurio security software which filtered inappropriate content, free access to Hopster app for three months as well as 40 pre-installed game apps to ensure your child never got bored.

EE has an Apple TV deal for all iPhone customers following Apple Music offer

The new tablet comes with the same free subscriptions and gaming content as the previous one but new additions include an all-new child-proof bumper with a carry handle and kickstand. According to EE, the Hopster app is also much better than last year's, bringing in as many as 1500 episodes of kids TV shows along with nursery rhymes, learning games and over 100 songs.

For parents, the new tablet brings in advanced controls to let them monitor the content their children can access. If you're a parent, you will be able to filter the web, manage apps and set up time controls which can be tuned to your child's needs. Blocking your child's access to inappropriate apps and websites is quite easy and the time controls will ensure that your child will not spend too much time playing with his/her tablet.

EE finally gets on EU roaming wagon with 'roam like home' on 4GEE MAX plans

“Last year we introduced the world’s first 4G tablet for kids which proved extremely popular in the run up to Christmas. So this year we’ve given the Robin a makeover, to ensure it is once again the perfect gift for parents who want a tablet which can provide their children with hours of entertainment and e-learning in a protected online environment,” said Sharon Meadows, Director of Devices at EE.

Even though the new EE tablet is more powerful and durable than its predecessor, EE has kept the pricing constant. It will cost £129.99 on Pay as you go but you will be able to buy it on Pay Monthly deals which start from £17 a month, offering 2GB of monthly data. You can also subscribe to an EE MAX plan which costs £22 a month and offers 20GB of monthly data with EU roaming facility. The new Robin is on sale starting today and is available nationwide from EE stores, online and EE telesales.
