Unlike previous OnePlus handsets, OnePlus 3 has been liberated from the invite-only system and if you like the phone, you can either buy it at the OnePlus store or, from September 29, get it with your favourite Refresh tariff at the O2 store. On the OnePlus UK store, the OnePlus 3 can be purchased for £329 and you will also be able to separately purchase a host of accessories which include protective cases worth £19.99, a glass screen protector worth £9.99, a Flip cover worth £15.99 and a Dash Power Bundle worth £26.08.
OnePlus says sorry for late deliveries of OnePlus 3
O2's Refresh tariffs for the OnePlus 3 have been curated to cater to all kinds of usage needs. Data offerings range from 500MB to 20GB a month and you can also go for plans with as low as 500 minutes a month or unlimited minutes and texts. The cheapest offering is a £28 a month deal which comes with 500MB, 500 minutes and AYCE texts and if you need a little more, you can also get the £35.50 a month tariff plan which offers 3GB of monthly data along with AYCE minutes and texts. You can also exchange your existing handset with the OnePlus 3 using O2 Refresh and will only need to pay the remaining amount on your existing handset to save some money and enjoy the new phone.
"We chose O2 as our exclusive partner in this important market because they have a history of focusing on the most premium smartphones for the most savvy users, which aligns very well with our products and users. We look forward to sending ripples through the market together with O2," said Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus.
OnePlus 3 was made available to pre-order SIM-free in the middle of July this year but unexpected pre-orders forced the company to freeze sales in mainland Europe between August 9 and September 12 to satisfy existing orders. In the meantime, OnePlus also hiked the price of the phone in the UK from £309 to £329 citing the sudden fall of the pound following the Brexit verdict. With the gap between demand and supply stabilising this month, we expect OnePlus and O2 to satisfy all purchases as per committed timelines.
OnePlus 3 to cost £329 from July 11; OnePlus blame Brexit
If you didn't get the time to take a look at the OnePlus 3, you should know that the phone is among the best mid-range phones available in the UK offering premium specifications and looks at a modest price. The phone comes with an impressive 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 820 processor offering up to 2.2 GHz of power, a 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMLOED display and a 16MP rear camera with HD Mode, Auto HDR and Dynamic De-noise along with Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization. It also features a powerful 3,000 mAh battery which can be boosted with OnePlus' Dash Charge technology which replenishes more than 60% of the phone's battery in 30 minutes.
Despite featuring an OxygenOS custom OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, OnePlus 3 surprisingly comes with no added bloatware, which also means that the custom OS may actually help you customise rather than taking up precious storage space in your device. Thanks to the phone's Dual NANO SIM support, you will be able to use two networks at a time as well.
