HTC is in fact offering new customers a choice between a £100 discount and free earphones worth a lot more. If you don't need new earphones, you can purchase a HTC 10 phone on HTC's website and use the voucher code HTC100UK at checkout to get the phone at just £469.99 instead of £569.99.
Android and Apple go the USB-C route; 3.5 falls out of favour
Sadly, you won't be able to avail both offers with the same purchase, but both will be active till October the 2nd, so you have some time to decide which offer to take if you're really keen on buying the HTC 10. JBL's Reflect Aware C headphone uses the Type-C port for both audio and power and gets charged by any smartphone it is connected with. Launched at the same time as the HTC 10, it will work with all premium smartphones and tablets with USB Type-C ports.
"Introducing the world’s first USB-C sport earphone with noise cancellation and adaptive noise control. JBL Reflect Aware C Earphones combine digital audio and active noise cancellation, so you can shut the outside world out and enjoy better than CD level music. Perfect for distraction free workouts," says the HTC website.
This is the HTC 10: Specs and features
As of now, the JBL Reflect Aware C is the only headphone of its kind to feature a Type-C cable. However, Lenovo's ZUK Z1 phone also comes with a USB Type-C port which works as a headphone-out for ZUK's specially designed earphones. The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and two users can listen to music simultaneously using the two ports.
HTC 10 arrived featuring the world's first stereo 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording which captured twice the frequency range of standard recordings and is 256 times more detailed than the latter. The technology will also let you upscale from 16-bit to 24-bit audio as well convert high performance digital to analogue. The headphone amp also delivers twice the quality of a standard headphone amp and distortion in audio quality is ten times lesser than in other audio devices. There's also a Personal Audio Profile system which will let you adjust sound frequencies of each audio file automatically as per your tastes and preferences. With the new JBL headphones, HTC 10 will offer you a listening experience as good as other premium phones, if not better.
