The Taiwanese phone maker has also shared a series of short videos in its website which make it pretty clear that a smartwatch with a circular display is in the offing. This might be a little surprising as there has been little or no chatter in tech circles about HTC coming up with a smartwatch. But for Android Wear fans, the range of new smartwatches to choose from is getting larger. The video also mentions the number 150- which could mean that either the smartwatch will be named as such or will arrive with certain features which will have something to do with the number.
As per existing rumours, HTC has been working on a couple of mid-range Desire phones and is expected to launch them as Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle. One of the videos shared by HTC shows a well-designed black smartphone with a single rear camera and double-champhered edges in gold, giving it quite a premium appearance. Yet another video shows a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.
HTC 10 is a really good smartphone but arrived around the same time as Samsung's Galaxy S7 and LG G5 which diluted its appeal. HTC hasn't done any favours to itself with the pricing as well and it will thus be interesting to see how the new phones will be priced and if the cost will be worth their range of features and specifications. HTC isn't really known for offering its devices on the cheap- the One A9 costs £400- so we aren't getting our hopes up just yet.
The launch event will take place at 8AM British time on September 20 and will be available to view on the HTC website.
