Sony's Xperia XR and Xperia X Compact phones leaked ahead of IFA launch

Sony is expected to launch two new Xperia X series phones at IFA next month and leaked images of both handsets have emerged on the web.

Sony's upcoming Xperia X Compact and Xperia XR phones will arrive with 4.6-inch and 5.2-inch displays as well as different sets of features and specifications.

Yesterday, well-known leakster Even Blass released an image of the Xperia Compact which confirms that Sony will stick to its basic design principles for Xperia X phones. The edges in Xperia X Compact will not be rounded like in other smartphones and as per GSM Arena, it will feature a 2,700 mAh battery and a 4.6-inch display.

The Xperia XR, the other phone to be launched at IFA, will be a larger variant and will feature a 5.2-inch display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 23-MP and 13-MP cameras with Sony's Exmor sensors, 4GB of RAM and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers.

Apart from these two smartphones, Sony is also expected to launch a number of other devices at IFA like wireless Bluetooth earbuds, a portable cam, headsets and a camcorder. Sony's press conference at IFA in Berlin will take place at 1PM on 1st September, so we won't have to wait for too long to find out what's in the offing.
