LG teases V20's audio prowess, confirms launch date

LG today announced that it will be launching the much-awaited V20 in the United States on September 7th, a day after it will be launched in Seoul.

LG has also posted a teaser image of the V20 showing the phone resting over a microphone, basically teasing the audio capabilities of the phone.

This is the second official announcement coming from LG, not too long after the company announced that the V20 will be featuring a new 32-bit Quad DAC audio tech by ESS Technology. The technology will replicate the experience offered by professional home-audio systems when you will connect the V20 with compatible wired headphones.

LG V20 to be the first phone to feature Quad DAC audio tech

LG has already announced that the V20 will be the world's first smartphone to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat in the first half of September. Today's announcement suggests that LG will unravel the V20 with bits of information regarding its features prior to the official launch of the phablet. However, the fact that LG has already spoken about the phone's audio prowess means they were only confirming exact launch dates for the phone.

"LG Electronics offers consumers a camera, an audio technology-intensive 'V20' the best video and audio experience. LG Electronics is scheduled to release V20 in Seoul September 6 in San Francisco on September 7th," read today's announcement on the V20.

LG V20: Here are the leaked pictures and they look gorgeous

Aside from offering superior audio experience, we expect the V20 to arrive with more premium features like an Always-On secondary display, a TruSignal antenna to avoid call drops, dual rear cameras like in the LG G5, manual video recording capability, removable battery and a tough  SAE grade 316L stainless steel body. We expect LG to announce some more features in the phone before the official launch event takes place.

"As smartphones mature, we’re seeing more and more customers looking beyond just fast processors and big displays in their devices. Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company.
