EU roaming charges slashed by 75%; what it means for you?
Even though roaming charges will altogether be discontinued from the middle of next year in Europe, Three's Feel at Home service not only allows you to enjoy no extra charges for consuming minutes, texts and data in European countries in the meantime, but also etends to a number of countries outside the continent.
The new list of countries where the Feel at Home service will be applicable includes Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Isle of Man, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey. Existing countries where the Feel at Home service is already in place include Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, France and Hong Kong among others.
Three introduces cheap as chips 'essential' plans
Earlier this year, the European Union slashed roaming charges in all member countries by 75%. While network operators across Europe could previously charge roaming rates of €0.19 and €0.05 per minute of outgoing and incoming calls, €0.06 per text and €0.20 per MB of internet data consumed, the nrw rates are just €0.05 per minute of calling, €0.02 per text and €0.05 per MB of internet data consumed.
Even though Three's Feel at Home service is not included in the network's recently-launched list of 'Essential' plans, Tesco Mobile has decided to scrap roaming charges altogether till September 3 to allow consumers to enjoy their European vacations in the summer. Tesco Mobile is charging zero roaming charges between 23 May and 3 September as part of a new offering named Tesco Mobile Home From Home. The offer will be applicable to 31 countries across Europe including France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Greece and Netherlands.
