LG V20 to be the first phone to feature Quad DAC audio tech

LG has announced that its upcoming V20 smartphone will be the world's first to feature 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio technology which will reduce ambient noise levels by up to 50%.

The new 32-bit Quad DAC audio tech by ESS Technology will replicate the experience offered by professional home-audio systems when you connect the V20 with compatible wired headphones.

LG has already announced that the V20 will be the world's first smartphone to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat in the first half of September. Today's announcement suggests that LG will unravel the V20 with bits of information regarding its features prior to the official launch of the phablet.

The existing V10 also benefited from LG's partnership with ESS Technologies, featuring high-quality 32-bit DAC audio technology which was much appreciated by users. With the V20, LG has decided to extend its partnership with the tech company to let users experience superior audio quality than those offered by other OEMs.

As smartphones mature, we’re seeing more and more customers looking beyond just fast processors and big displays in their devices. Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company.

LG V20, not Nexus 2016, will be the World's first phone with stock Android N

Aside from offering superior audio experience, we expect the V20 to arrive with more premium features like an Always-On secondary display, a TruSignal antenna to avoid call drops, dual rear cameras like in the LG G5, manual video recording capability, removable battery and a tough  SAE grade 316L stainless steel body. LG is expected to launch the V20 on September 6 and we'll try to get as much info about the device as is made available by LG and celebrated leaksters on Twitter and elsewhere, so stay tuned.
