Vodafone's Inclusive Roaming now available in 101 destinations
Getting mobile coverage and access to mobile internet inside large halls in rural areas have always been problematic, especially for rural communities who need such access to conduct their meetings. Such woes also extend to rural hospitals, community run pubs and shops or scout huts as well as other places where large gatherings usually take place. With its new indoor mobile coverage programme, Vodafone promises to offer indoor mobile coverage and reliable 3G internet access to communities who apply for it.
To get this done, Vodafone will be using a Sure Signal+ ‘femtocell’ unit which looks like a broadband router and is usually deployed to enable indoor mobile coverage and internet access in underground locations and deep inside buildings which regular mobile networks cannot penetrate.
To apply for the programme, your community's minimum requirement should be a unlimited broadband package including download and upload speeds of 4 Mbps and 2 Mbps respectively. The first pub to officially feature Vodafone's new indoor mobile coverage is the Bear and Ragged Staff pub in Bransford, Worcester and up to a 100 rural communities will be selected in due course.
UK slam dunks the world in mobile broadband speeds yet again!
“We are absolutely delighted with our Vodafone Sure Signal+ unit which is providing our business with excellent Vodafone mobile coverage. Being located in a rural area, this is something we have struggled with but Vodafone have provided us with a solution. It was extremely easy to install and within minutes we were connected to the world!” said Lynda Williams from The Bear and Ragged Staff.
