LG V20, not Nexus 2016, will be the World's first phone with stock Android N
As per existing leaks and rumours, this year's Nexus phone will come in two variants- one with a 5-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch one. Both variants are expected to launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and will run stock Android Nougat operating system. In the new phones, Android N will introduce the split-screen mode, a feature that has so far been implemented in tablets. Aside from being able to view and work on two apps at a time, you will also be able to view the home screen as well as all apps in both portrait and landscape modes in your Nexus phone.
As per Android Police, the new Nexus handsets will also feature a new 'swipe fingerprint' gesture support which will let you view notifications by simply swiping down on the fingerprint sensor with your finger. The feature is already present in a few Huawei handsets like Honor 5X and it seems it is effective enough to be implemented by other manufacturers in their upcoming phones.
This 3D render of the next Google Nexus is just drop-dead gorgeous
Android Police has also claimed that HTC will launch its Nexus handsets in Electric Blue colour variants, which no previous Nexus handsets have been launched in so far. Given that the Nexus phones will face stiff competition from LG V20 which will launch with stock Android Nougat before they do, as well as a number of other premium smartphones, including iPhone 7 and 7 Plus which will launch later this year, they will need to be attractive not only from a 'features and specifications' standpoint but in terms of looks too.
