The company has added that they are expecting more stocks to arrive later this week and will fulfil all existing demand by Thursday. The demand for the OnePlus 3 in the UK has been over and above their expectations and their factories have not been able to keep up, considering that fact that the phone is now on sale in a large number of countries.
"It feels extra terrible to let you down" says OnePlus as deliveries of the Two flounder
"Thank you for your support. The OnePlus 3 is selling faster at an unprecedented rate. Sorry to those who have had to wait. All outstanding orders will be dispatched mid-next week and those who’ve been affected will be compensated with a £16 / 20€ coupon + no minimum order to qualify for free shipping. Starting next week we are back to normal processing times," said OnePlus in a blog post.
As per OnePlus, those who were the first to pre-order OnePlus 3 will be prioritized but the entire demand till today will be fulfilled later this week. However, given that demand for the OnePlus 3 is expected to continue unabated, we wonder if the company will be able to fulfil future demand without suffering any further hiccups.
This isn't the first time that OnePlus had to apologise to fans for delayed deliveries. The company faced a similar predicament in the period following the release of the OnePlus 2 in the UK last year, forcing CEO Carl Pei to issue an apology to buyers.
OnePlus 3 launch: All you need to know
“To our fans, sorry. We were equally excited when we saw your excitement around the OnePlus 2. We know how it feels waiting and waiting for something you really want, while being given ETAs that go unfulfilled. We appreciate the trust and support that you have given to a relatively small and unknown company like OnePlus,” he said.
“We know that you are rooting for us, and want nothing more than to see us succeed. Therefore, it feels extra terrible to let you down this time around, again,” he added.
OnePlus 3 vs Samsung Galaxy S7; guess who won!
The popularity of OnePlus 3 owes itself to its premium specifications as well as a low price tag. Despite its price being equivalent to most mid-range phones, a look at the specifications of OnePlus 3 will make you realise that it easily fits the bill of a premium smartphone. The phone comes with an impressive 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 820 processor offering up to 2.2 GHz of power, a 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED display and a 16MP rear camera with HD Mode, Auto HDR and Dynamic De-noise along with Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization. It also features a powerful 3,000 mAh battery which can be boosted with OnePlus' Dash Charge technology which replenishes more than 60% of the phone's battery in 30 minutes. The phone is currently priced at £309 and can be pre-ordered at oneplus.net.
"We’re releasing the OnePlus 3 invite-free, right from launch day. In addition, invites are gone forever from future OnePlus product launches," said OnePlus in a blog post published earlier. "It’s a big step for us as a company, our fans, and fellow tech enthusiasts. After sending out millions of invites over the past two years, it’s hard to not think back to the early days and how far we’ve come. We’re proud to have reached a point where we feel confident in making our new device available without invites from day one," the company added.
