OnePlus 3 to launch on June 14; no invites this time
Even though leaks and rumours have been unanimous about OnePlus 3 featuring a phablet-sized 5.5-inch display, the fact that the phone will come with a 6GB RAM is a new one. Apart from the sizable RAM, the phone will feature OxygenOS based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, 64GB of internal storage out of which 53GB will be available to users, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor, an Adreno 530 GPU and 15 MP and 7 MP rear and front cameras. The phone will also come with features like NFC for contactless payments, GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, sensors like accelerator and gyroscope but no heart rate monitor.
OnePlus 3 will launch on June 14 and will be available to pre-order from day one. Even though the company hasn't officially announced the phone's images or specifications, it has already opened pre-orders for the handset in certain regions. As per Phone Arena, OnePlus is hosting a flash sale of its upcoming flagship phone in China today and is aiming to sell as many as 1,000 handsets costing an equivalent of £291 apiece. However, the company has done away with its invite system and will make the phone available to everyone.

"We’re releasing the OnePlus 3 invite-free, right from launch day. In addition, invites are gone forever from future OnePlus product launches. It’s a big step for us as a company, our fans, and fellow tech enthusiasts. After sending out millions of invites over the past two years, it’s hard to not think back to the early days and how far we’ve come. We’re proud to have reached a point where we feel confident in making our new device available without invites from day one," said OnePlus in a blog post.
Even though no official images are available yet, we have been treated to a number of leaked images of OnePlus 3 on Twitter. Not too long ago, a serial leakster on Twitter calling himself 'The Malignant' has leaked a couple of images of the upcoming OnePlus Three. The images reveal a USB Type-C port at the bottom, a home button on the front and speaker outlets and a 3.5mm headphone jack at both ends of the Type-C port.
