The tweet from ASUS says "92/4=23, but what about the other 3? What’s the relevancy of all these numbers?" which is pretty much in line with common teasers that manufacturers send out just prior to official launches. The tweet also contains a short duration GIF showing a camera lens as well as a #Z3N hashtag, which basically dispels any niggling doubts.

What we are most curious about is that why it took ASUS a year and a half to start talking about Zenphone 3? The Zenphone 2 launch preceded that of Samsung's Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 and LG G4 but its successor shows up long after other 2016 flagships have established themselves in the global market. Last year, ASUS followed up the Zenphone 2 launch with the launch of Zenphone Selfie smartphone in June with a 13-MP front camera, latching on to the growing popularity of high resolution front cameras in smartphones.

However, this isn't the first time that Zenphone 3 has crept up in discussions on impending smartphone launches. Most rumours now agree that the Zenphone 3 will launch on May 30 at an event named Computex in Taipei, Taiwan. Rumours also suggest that Zenphone 3 will launch in three differently-sized variants with 4.5-inch, 5-inch and 5.5-inch displays respectively. In fact, the smallest variant may cost as low as $110 at launch and the premium one just $370, which means ASUS seriously wants to exploit the demand for low-cost budget, mid-range and premium phones in the short term.
As per Android Hits, all three variants of Zenphone 3 will feature sturdy Gorilla Glass screens with 2.5D Arc Glass design for protection from scratches, falls and bumps. Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the phones will also feature Snapdragon processors, MicroSD card slots, Dual SIM slots, brilliant 23MP rear cameras and 8MP front cameras, up to 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM.

Once launched, the three phones may also be available in popular colours like Gold, Rose Gold, White, Silver and Black. While it is a no-brainer that the phones will launch and release in Taiwan and China before hitting European markets, there have been no leaks on a European launch date so far.
