Tesco Mobile scraps roaming charges in Europe, adds more countries than Three, iD
In October of last year, Vodafone introduced its £30 Big Value Bundle which offered unlimited minutes and texts and 6GB of 4G data every month. The plan also offered additional 100 minutes of calls, 100 texts and 500MB of 4G data in the Euro Zone.
Vodafone's announcement comes not long after the European Union slashed roaming rates by a significant margin. While you were charged roaming rates of €0.19 and €0.05 per minute of outgoing and incoming calls, €0.06 per text and €0.20 per MB of internet data consumed until now, roaming in the Euro Zone will now cost you just €0.05 per minute of calling, €0.02 per text and €0.05 per MB of internet data consumed.
Last week, Tesco Mobile announced that it will scrap roaming charges entirely for a limited period this year to let its customers enjoy their European vacations in the summer. Tesco Mobile will charge zero roaming charges between 23 May and 3 September as part of a new offering named Tesco Mobile Home From Home. The offer will be applicable to 31 countries across Europe including France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Greece and Netherlands.
