Even though Xperia X isn't taking the likes of Galaxy S7, LG G5 or HTC 10 head on, it comes as an affordable option with specifications and features capable enough to suit your lifestyle. The phone features a 5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 64-bit Snapdragon 650 processor, 32GB of internal storage, a 3GB RAM, and impressive 23MP and 13MP cameras.
MWC 2016: Sony launches Xperia X and XA phones, brings in new batteries, cameras and design
The mid-range Xperia XA offers a similar-sized display but with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also features 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a MediaTek MT6755 chip and 13MP and 8MP cameras. Both phones come with MicroSD slots, curved glass displays which mould perfectly with metal unibodies as well as the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system on-board.
The main USP of both phones, however, is battery life. Sony has adopted Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology which works with its home-grown smart battery management system to offer longer battery lives to both phones. These technologies can make these phones last as long as two days on a single charge. Thanks to Qualcomm's QuickCharge 2.0 feature, Xperia X and XA will also charge up 40 per cent faster than existing Xperia phones. A ten-minute charge can add enough juice to make the phones last up to 5.5 hours.

Just like Xperia Z series phones, both phones feature Sony's TRILUMINOS Display for mobile technology, edge-to-edge displays and can work as remote controls for PlayStation 4. Sony is also offering a range of matching Style covers for both phones just like it has done for Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra phones.
The sub-premium Xperia XA will retail for £499 onwards and will be available in White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold colours. The mid-range Xperia XA will retail at £239 for the White and Lime Gold colour variants and £279 for the Graphite Black one. To read our hands-on review of the Xperia XA, click here.
