Acer launches Liquid Zest Plus phablet with a 5,000 mAh battery!

Acer launched its new Liquid Zest Plus phablet at an event in New York today, featuring an impressive 5,000 mAh battery that should easily last two days of regular use.

Featuring a 5.5-inch display, the phone also brings in a new Tri-Focus rear camera and competitive specs for a mid-range phablet.

In the United States, the Liquid Zest Plus will cost just $250, which would translate to a mere £175 if shipping costs are not included when the phablet releases in the UK.

The next smartphone to sport a 7-day battery life could be an iPhone!

The 13MP rear camera will come with a new Tri-Focus technology which includes a laser focus, automatic face detection and a contrast-management system to keep your pictures bright and real. The handset will also feature an 5MP front camera with auto-focus technology.

This isn't the first time that Acer has flirted with powerful batteries in its phones. Acer's Liquid Z630, which is currently retailing at £179.99, features a powerful 4,000 mAh battery. The phone also offers 16GB of storage, a 2GB RAM and a quad-core processor which delivers 1.3 GHz of power.

Even though a 5,000 mAh battery sounds crazy, this is not the first time that we have heard about similar or more powerful ones. In December, Chinese phone maker Oukitel rolled out the 5.5-inch K10000 phablet with a 10,000 mAh battery which the company said will last up to ten days under normal use.

This smartphone can last ten days thanks to its 10,000 mAh battery

Oukitel has done monster batteries before but never before has it developed a battery this large. Last year, the phone maker unveiled the K4000 which features, you're right, a 4,000 mAh battery and can last up to seven days on a single charge.

Among the latest flagship phones, the LG G5, when clubbed with a LG Cam Plus modular camera which comes with its own battery, can deliver 4,000 mAh of power.

Acer also launched a two-in-one Switch Alpha 12 tablet which comes with a free keyboard, the latest 6th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and a new Double LiquidLoop cooling system which maintains the tablet's temperature without using a fan.
