Spotted! Images of LG G5 SE along with specifications

When we first heard about LG launching the G5 SE, a variant of the G5, our first thoughts veered towards a smaller display and somewhat toned-down specs. However, the G5 SE now seems to be an identical twin of the G5 but like we expected, is definitely cheaper than its flagship twin.

LG has now launched G5 SE in Russia after an earlier launch in Latin America, and incidentally, the flagship G5 has not been launched in both regions yet.

LG G5 gets March 31 as official release date

As per available specifications, G5 SE features the same dimensions as the G5 but packs a Snapdragon 652 processor inside along with 3GB of RAM. In contrast, its flagship sibling features a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM.

These specifications were revealed when LG listed the device in its Russian website, but the page has since been taken down.

LG is also marketing G5 SE as a 3G phone in Russia despite the fact that Snapdragon 652 supports LTE configurations. While we do not know yet how much G5 SE will cost, what we know is that the phone features a Quad HD display, dual rear cameras and the same modular feature as the G5 to let users add accessories like the G5 Cam Plus and a battery module.

In G5 SE, one will also come across a second always-on display, the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, a 3D Arc Glass screen, USB Type-C port and a MicroSD slot. The phone, like the G5, will be available in Gold, Pink and Titanium colours once released.

While we haven't heard about G5 SE entering European markets in the near future, the phone may not have a very bright future in the continent if LG chooses to market it as a 3G handset like it has done in Russia.
