Do you really need a £1300 dancing Android phone in your life?

A new smartphone robot from Japan named RoBoHoN is creating headlines across the world, thanks to its cuteness and because it can do everything a smartphone can.

Not only can RoBoHon make calls for you, it can also dance and hail and Uber if you need one.

Designed by Sharp Corp, RoBoHon is priced at around £1,300 and like virtual assistants, reads out your texts, alerts you about phone calls and wakes you up like an alarm clock. Standing at 20 cm, it can dance for you and walk around the house too.

While it's incredibly expensive and costs as much as two premium phablets, RoBoHon offers the same functionality but packs quite a punch on the fun factor. How about having an incredibly cute robot in the house which can arrange your video conferences and play with your children too!

"RoBoHoN doesn't just deliver the fun of a smartphone, it's a robot phone that responds to people with charm and fun," said Yoshisuke Hasegawa, director at Sharp.

RoBoHon comes with a personal touch that works well with its cuteness factor. If it senses that you're crying, it'll say it loves you and can also project photos and films for you. What's more, it will greet you by name everytime you'll enter your room and will dance for you if you ask it to.

RoBoHon runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and features a 2-inch display on its back. It also comes with a 1,700 mAh battery, a 8MP camera, 3G and LTE connectivity, 16GB of internal storage, a 2GB RAM and a Snapdragon 400 processor.

RoBoHon will go on sale next month but we aren't sure on when it will be available in the UK. "In terms of developing the business, we're considering overseas sales," said Hasegawa.
