Huawei Ascend P9 leaks: Kirin 950 chip, 32GB storage and dual-cameras

Huawei launched its much-touted Honor 5X last month and it seemed that it would rest on its laurels, namely Mate 8 and Honor 5X, for a while before renewing the offensive on European markets.

But the Chinese phone maker is now back at it and has announced an event in London which it will host on April 6. They say that the event is all about a new phone named the P9.

The most prominent rumour doing the rounds about the P9 is that it will sport a dual camera setup, and Huawei has now fuelled the gossip by tagging the upcoming event with a quip that says "#OO Change The Way You See The World."

The earliest leaks about the P9 had suggested that the phone may arrive in three variants, namely the P9, a cheaper P9 Lite and  P9 Premium with top of the line specs. As of now, we have a leaked image of the P9 courtesy @OnLeaks who has also shared images of some black case covers of the phone.

Celebrated leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks) has also leaked images of the P9 which looks a lot like the Huawei Ascend P8 in terms of design and the dual camera setup and auto-sensors on its back.

Just like the Mate 8, P9 is also rumoured to come with Kirin 950 processor which is a big step up from the Kirin 935 in terms of speed and performance. As per Huawei, Kirin 950 brings in 100 per cent more CPU power, 125 per cent better GPU performance and 70 per cent greater power efficiency than its predecessor.

As per Gadgets 360, we should see a medium-priced phone featuring 32GB of internal storage, 3GB of RAM, a Kirin 950 chip, a 3,000 mAh battery and a 12MP rear camera with a Leica lens.
