HTC One M10: What's new, rumours and launch date

HTC One M9 bit the dust despite being among the better-looking phones to be launched last year, and realising that looks aren't everything, HTC is bringing in a super phone this year that is the One M10.

As per trending rumours, the One M10 will be as big as Samsung's Galaxy S7 with a similar display resolution. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 will run its engines and there will be a 4GB RAM in place to let you work the phone optimally.

Here's our first look at HTC One M10 specs and features!

To be fair, the One M9 was a wonderful phone with excellent looks, performance and features, but what went against it was the fact that it brought in very little upgrades to the existing One M8. Not only did buyers choose the cheaper One M8, existing One M8 users didn't find many reasons to upgrade either.

With the upcoming M10, or HTC Perfume as they call it, HTC are bringing in not only a more powerful processor, memory and graphics, but also cameras that can rival those in Google's Nexus 6P or in Sony's Xperia Z5 phones.

As per LlabTooFeR, a serial tipster of HTC phones on Twitter, the One M10 is coming with highly-capable UltraPixel cameras with optical image stabilization. The 12MP rear camera will feature a Sony IMX377 sensor which is also present in Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P phones and the front camera will feature Samsung's s5k4e6 sensor which supports a resolution of 2592 x 1944p at 30fps.

HTC One M9s is a serious mid-range challenger!

HTC One M10's display will also support a Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. This will be a major upgrade over the display in the One M9 which was a Full HD one with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p.

As per Master Herald, HTC One M10, just like LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 phones, will come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed. However, just like previous HTC One smartphones, the M10 will sport the HTC Sense 8.0 overlay over the Android OS.

Vodafone is currently selling HTC One A9 in Deep Garnet

In terms of design, it is being reported that HTC One M10 will be based on the design of the recently-launched HTC One A9 smartphone. The One A9 looks very familiar to the iPhone 6 but its sleek metal unibody design, a Gorilla Glass 4 casing, a light-weight body and an easy-to-use fingerprint scanner makes it a great mid-range phone to use.

As per Tech Radar, HTC One M10 will also feature a maximum of 32GB of internal storage, a 4GB RAM as well as a microSD slot which, like the one in the One A9, may support as much as 2TB of additional data.

Going by the available rumours and leaks, the HTC M10 could mount a major challenge in the flagship phone market once it is launched on April 11, but it success will balance on how well HTC will market it and promote its new features to new and existing users.
