OnePlus challenges upcoming flagships, sells 64GB OnePlus 2 for just £249

OnePlus 2 has been the darling gadget of tech reviewers ever since it was launched, and with a £40 price cut, it seems it is now a much better bet for buyers than expensive flagship phones.

As per OnePlus, the price cut is permanent and not a temporary measure to boost sales.  This means that you can now get hold of a 64GB OnePlus 2 for just £249, a third of what the iPhone 6s Plus currently costs.

OnePlus Two launches with flagship specs at mid-range price

As a Valentine's Day gesture, OnePlus is also offering a free StyleSwap Cover with newly-purchased OnePlus 2 phones. A StyleSwap Cover usually costs £19.99 and is available in Black Apricot, Bamboo, Rosewood and Kevlar variants.

At this price, you'll get a full HD 5.5” IPS LCD display, a 3,300 mAh battery, dual SIM slots with 4G connectivity, a 64-bit superfast Snapdragon 810 chip, 4GB RAM and 64GB of installed storage.

OnePlus 2 also comes with USB Type-C ports for quick data transfer and charging, a fingerprint scanner, 13MP and 5MP cameras with dual LED flash and an alert slider for notifications and for turning the phone silent.

With several flagship smartphones like LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and HTC One M10 set to be launched in the coming days, it seems that OnePlus' decision to go for a price cut will suit buyers well who would want to own decent smartphones without having to pay a heavy price for them.
