HP is set to launch its first Windows 10 phone come March

Most analysts believed that the delay in launch of Windows 10 mobile was expected since Microsoft wanted to boost sales of Lumia 950 and 950XL, its home-grown devices that were the only ones to sport Windows 10. Since then, Microsoft also launched Lumia 550, a cheaper Windows 10 device and has also announced which Windows phones will be the first to receive the new OS, but the mobile OS continues to elude us.
Windows 10 Mobile upgrade won't arrive until the New Year
As per VentureBeat, Microsoft has sent out emails to mobile carriers to inform them of its decision to delay the launch till next month. The company has also postponed the first updates to Windows 10 mobile OS which powers Lumia 950, 950XL and Lumia 550 until next month.
Earlier, Microsoft announced the names of existing Windows phones which were to be the first to receive Windows 10 mobile upgrades. These included Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 phones.

The timing of the launch of Windows 10 mobile coincides with the expected launch of Lumia 650, Microsoft's fourth Windows 10 device in as many months. As per available leaks, Microsoft may announce the arrival of Lumia 650 via a blog post on February 1. Apart from stock Windows 10 OS, Lumia 650 will sport a 5-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 210 chip, a 2,000 mAh battery, a microSD slot, 8MP and 5MP cameras and two SIM slots.

Lumia 650 will also come with 8GB of internal storage and a 1GB RAM and may come in White and Black colour options. Fresh leaks also tip the smartphone to feature a metal frame as well as features like Wi-Fi calling, NFC capability, Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 support and HD voice calling.

It may seem likely that Microsoft wants to launch Windows 10 mobile once it launches new phones catering to budget buyers, mid-range buyers and premium customers. Once Lumia 650 completes the cycle, Windows 10 mobile will be finally ready to hit the streets.
