3GSM: LG polishes up range

13 February 2007

LG is builds on its success with the Shine by unveiling three new phones at 3GSM

A week after announcing an HSDPA version of its popular Shine (KE970) phone, LG has unveiled three powerful new handsets, including an HSDPA phone, a mobile TV phone and a slimline 3G handset.

LG's KS10 is a smartphone with a large QVGA screen, high speed web browsing through HSDPA and the ability to stream TV. The device is designed for web browsing and users can record browsed pages, sort and capture web pictures and search for keywords. There's also a built-in MP3 player.

The KU950 is a digital broadcast mobile TV phone that runs at HSDPA speeds and would enable viewers to watch programmes on their phone as they would on their set at home. Like Nokia's N77 (see our12 Feb news story), the KU950 is a Digital Video Broadcasting Handheld (DVB-H) phone which is unlikely to make it to the UK. The phone features a mobile TV receiver with wide-swing screen and offers programme recording, screen capture and even let's you talk on the phone and watch TV at the same time.

Last up, the KU250 is a slimline 3G candy bar phone designed for ease of use. In fact, the phone has been adopted by the GSM Association for its '3G for all' campaign.
