Microsoft launches Lumia 550, its first Windows 10 budget phone!
A day after the official launch of Windows 10, Microsoft had announced the existing Windows phones which were to be the first to receive Windows 10 mobile upgrades. These included Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 phones.

Once available, Windows 10 Mobile will sport an Action Centre, which will act like a hub of notifications across Windows devices. Using this, you will be able to view, respond to or dismiss notifications either on your phone, tablet or your PC.

You will also be able to switch between messaging platforms while chatting with people on your Windows phone. So far, SMS and Skype are fully integrated and Microsoft is working on integrating other popular messaging platforms like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.
While you've been waiting to upgrade your Windows 8.1 phone, Microsoft has already launched three new Windows 10 phones- Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL and the Lumia 550. Costing less than £100, the Lumia 550 sports OneDrive that lets you work on files in any Windows 10 device and save it anywhere at any time for later use. You will also be able to create and edit files like Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and will also be able to make Skype calls. Outlook mail and calendar will also be very helpful if you use Outlook at work and need to sync your phone with it.

Once Windows 10 mobile upgrade is available for your phone, you will be able to use all these features plus more. The company has just launched the latest Insider Build Preview but has made it clear that no more builds will feature until the new year.
