Three's Christmas Birthday video is going viral. Here's why

Christmas is fun, except for those whose birthdays fall on that day. If your birthday falls on Christmas Day too, you'll be familiar with the fact that your best day of the year is often overlooked and you're left celebrating Christmas parties instead.

Three UK has just released a video for your kind, and predictably the video has now gone viral with over a million hits on YouTube inside 24 hours!

Named 'Merry Birthday,' the video shows the not so happy story of Noel, a boy whose birthdays are usually meek affairs just because they fall on Christmas days. So all his birthday gifts either come with Christmas wrappings or have something to do with reindeers, bells or Santa Claus.

Noel isn't just your story. As per a research done by Three, over 76 per cent of people whose birthdays fall on Christmas wish they were born in a different month and 53 per cent of them comolain that their friends opt for Christmas parties instead of celebrating their birthdays.

Three wants to use this event as a part of its #Makeitright campaign, asking people to wish Merry Birthdays to those who are born on Christmas. This way, Three hopes birthday boys and girls won't feel the heartburn that they usually do.

“At Three we’re always looking for ways to make it right for people and our customers. We know that those born around the festive period often feel like their birthday’s are lost to Christmas so this year we're changing that and putting December birthday’s back on the map by celebrating everyone in the UK that has a merry birthday in our new festive campaign,” said Lianne Norry, Director of Brand and Comms at Three.

Three efforts don't end with the video though. The operator is celebrating Christmas birthdays in the entire month of December on its social pages. People can nominate their friends with Christmas birthdays to win one of four Merry Birthday prizes offered by Three and there are some surprises on offer too!

A special Merry Birthday pudding is also in the offing, being prepared by Great British Bake Off winner Edd Kimber and a step-by-step recipe video of the pudding has now gone live on YouTube.
