Facebook has undoubtedly offered an amazing platform to interact with friends and never before have we ever stayed in touch with distant friends so frequently. Yet, their birthdays are special, and just putting in a line on Facebook to wish them doesn't sound so apt.
Rather than letting you take some other course to wish your friends, Facebook has taken the initiative. The social networking giant has introduced a video feature in the Birthday's section. By clicking on this feature, you will be able to record a 20-second video and send it to your friends on their birthdays. Man won't they be surprised.
However, the feature is just an experiment as of now. It has been rolled out selectively in iOS apps to test their effectiveness and acceptability. A twenty second video gives you time to sing a song or utter a funny story apart from screaming happy birthday. On the other hand, Vine and Instagram let you record just 5 and 15 seconds of videos respectively.
The news comes soon after Facebook launched new emoticons to add to the 'like' button in select countries on an experimental basis. The new emotions reflected anger, sadness, love, laughter and amazement.
