Huawei has launched its first new smartwatch- simply called the Huawei Watch- at IFA in Berlin today. Loaded with the latest Android Wear technology, you will be able to sync the new Watch with either of your Android or iOS devices!
Huawei has taken great pains to make the watch look and feel no different from your lovable traditional watch, with a round face and crown located at the two o’clock position. The face is 42mm in diameter which is also no different from your analogue watch.
While it may be simplistic on the outside, the internal features and functionalities of the Huawei Watch imply that Huawei has done quite a good job considering this is the first smartwatch the company has designed. No wonder American supermodel Karlie Kloss and one of the world’s top male models Sean O’Pry are happy to advertise it along with world’s most famous fashion photographer Mario Testino.
The Huawei Watch features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with touch sensitivity. The display is made of scratch-proof sapphire crystal and is guarded by a steel frame which gives it a sleek look. With a resolution of 286ppi, it offers a display which is comparable to that of the Apple Watch and the recently launched Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch.
Sensors and functionality
The watch features a range of sensors which include a heart rate monitor which offers better skin contact and greater accuracy, a 6-Axis motion sensor with a gyroscope and accelerometer which can monitor your activities like walking, running and climbing.
The watch also offers functionalities like Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphone usage and offline music download support. The watch has been synced with voice commands, and you can wither play music or navigate with your voice inputs.
Notifications like instant alerts for calls, texts, instant messages and emails will also let you stay connected at all times.
You can choose your favourite watch from among a range of rose gold, stainless steel and black frames. Huawei will also offer several watch face designs across lifestyle aesthetics.
Huawei Watch can be pre-ordered in the United States today, but customers in the UK will be able to buy it in October. The watch is priced between €399.00 and €699.00 in Europe, which should translate to a range between £294 and £514 here.
