Samsung announces the Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphone

Samsung has announced its new Galaxy S6 Edge+, a 5.7-inch dual edged phone which is a larger variant of the popular and revolutionary Galaxy S6 Edge which was launched in March.

Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a complete metal and glass body which supports a Quad HD Super AMOLED display. No surprises there.

The phone can also be charged wirelessly and a new wireless charging technology ensures that it can be charged completely in 90 minutes. The wireless charger, which will be included in the packaging, can also be charged completely in 120 minutes.

Both the 16MP primary and the 5MP front cameras contain Auto Real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) Smart Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and brand-new filters. The primary camera can be launched in one second by just double tapping  the home button.

Responding to security and privacy concerns, Samsun has introduced an improved KNOX Active Protection and My KNOX for enhanced security.

For music lovers, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available with a free six-month subscription with Google Play Music. This seems to be a well thought strategy post the launch of Apple Music.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be avaiable in both 32GB and 64GB variants and you will be able too choose among Gold Platinum, Black Sapphire and other colours. The phone will be available later this month for pre-orders and sales will begin from September 4.
