Scousers, be happy. While Liverpool FC isn't winning as many honours as it used to, there's a new field where Liverpool is ripping other major cities apart.
Rootmetrics, a company which measures mobile network performance, has confirmed that Liverpool boasts the best mobile network reliability, network speed, mobile internet and offers the best overall mobile performance amongst 16 cities across the country with a score of 94.6.
In contrast, the best London came close to the pinnacle was a measly 6th place in one of the six categories. It finished 9th in overall performance and suffered a lowly 14th place in terms of call performance.
Birmingham finished second in overall performance, having topped in call and text parameters. It also finished in the top three in terms of reliability and internet speed. Manchester stayed close behind with a final score of 93.5.
If optimum mobile network and mobile internet are close to your heart and you can't live without both, better stay away from Hull, Bristol or Cardiff. Particularly Hull. The city finished last in every conceivable category.
These rankings were based on the performance of major network operators like EE, O2, Three and Vodafone in all 16 cities.
In a similar study, Rootmetrics assessed comparative performance among the top four operators in categories like Overall Performance, Network Reliability, Network Speed, Mobile Internet, Call, and Text in the first half of the year. EE, with a score of 89.4 out of 100, finished first in every category as well as in overall ratings.
