Windows 10 launch: Here's why Microsoft will continue its march over Apple

Microsoft has begun rolling out its fresh Windows 10 operating system across several platforms around the world. This will be the last of its long list of operating systems that Microsoft has released so far as well as the most inclusive one ever.

Windows 10 will feature in desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets, HoloLens and Xbox gaming consoles.

Here are some reasons why Windows 10 will let Microsoft continue its dominance in the desktop operating system market in the coming years:

Windows 10 will feature various faces and you'll be free to choose any of them for your desktop or laptop. With options like Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Pro edition, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 Education and Windows 10 IoT Core systems, customisation is at the core of the new OS.

Windows 10 will also field a new feature called 'Continuum' which will adjust the home screen layout as per your usage and preferences.

The new browser, which will replace the legendary Internet Explorer, will let you paint circles or drawings while working on the web through its new finger painting tool. So if you want to show something on your webpage to a friend, you can simply circle it and email it to him.

Cortana is on the way to establish her dominance over Siri in ways such that it will take a long time for Siri to restore parity. The Cortana that will come with Windows 10 will be able to monitor and collect information about users and its Notebook will be like that of real-life assistants.

If you have certain likings and dislikings about cuisines, sports, websites and music, Cortana will know it. WHat's more, Cortana will appear in desktop versions as well.

A result of the most exhaustive 'Insider' programme through which Microsoft developed the best operating system ever, Windows 10 is set to maintain the near 80 per cent share of Microsoft's operating systems in the coming years.
