Vodafone has launched its new Smart ultra 6 flagship smartphone to go with its own 4G network at competitive prices, days after EE unveiled its CAT 4 enabled Harrier Tab capable of supporting downloads speeds of up to 60 Mbps.
Featuring a 5.5 inch Full HD display, the Smart ultra 6 runs on an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor and is based on the Android 5.0 Lollipop architecture. It also contains an impressive 3,000 mAh battery and a 13MP primary camera complemented by a 5MP front camera for video calling and selfies. At 159g, it’s not terribly heavy for a 6 inch smartphone and carries an internal storage of 16GB.
The phone is available on Vodafone's online store for a mere £125 on Pay as you go basis and for free with pay monthly plans starting at £17 per month.
Peter Becker-Pennrich, Vodafone’s Product Management Director, said, “If you look at the Smart prime 6 for example, we wanted to provide a powerful, 4G-ready smartphone for a budget of under £100. The aim for the Smart ultra 6 was to build the best phone we possibly could, whilst maintaining that emphasis on value for money.”
