Chinese gadget maker Huawei has announced its new 10 inch tablet- the T1, its slimmest tablet yet.
The T1 features a 9.6 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels in a frame that won't really excite many. However, being only 8.3mm wide, it will be easy to hold and carry.
Running on Android 4.4 Kit Kat, the device is powered by a quad core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor and carries a decent 4800mAh battery which should be ideal for prolonged game play and for viewing HD movies. As per Huawei, the T1 can sustain itself for over 12 hours of HD video playback and 6.5 hours on a Wi-Fi network.
The rear and front cameras maintain the low profile of mid-range tablets, with 5MP and 2MP resolutions respectively. However, this should not really matter in case you would prefer your smartphone camera for capturing your daily pictures and videos.
Even though the T1 boasts an internal storage of 16GB, the tiny 1GB RAM won't make gamers or multi-taskers too enthusiastic. In terms of looks, Huawei's home grown Emotion UI 3.0 interface will complement the Android architecture.
The T1 is available for purchase with O2 4G network on a £22.50 pay monthly plan with a £22.99 upfront payment. However, there is no Pay-as-you-go offer as yet.
