If you thought that the initial flurry of Apple Watch bookings, that put deliveries under considerable strain, has passed, you need to wait a while longer.
In a letter marked to all customers who have recently ordered the 42 mm Space Black version of the Apple Watch, this was what Apple had to say:
"Thank you for ordering an Apple Watch. We’re working hard to ship orders as quickly as possible and in the order they were placed.
As you may have heard, some models of Apple Watch will soon be available for purchase in Apple Retail Stores. We’d like you to know that the model you ordered will not be available for purchase in Apple Retail Stores until all current online orders have shipped.
When your order ships, we’ll send you an email with a specific delivery date and tracking information. For the most up-to-date information about your order, please visit online Order Status."
While not confirming the exact delivery dates, Apple have yet again managed to defer the delivery dates of the Apple Watch, much to the chagrin of many expectant customers. This occurs at a time when Apple are releasing the Watch in seven more countries from 26th June and opening sales through retail stores from the 18th. Something doesn't add up.
However, the shortage of products is solely limited to the 42 mm Space Black model at present with other models being dispatched as per schedule. Many customers who had ordered the device back in April are yet to get their hands around the Watch.
