Taiwanese tech giant ASUS today launched a series of devices that included the ZenFone Selfie, ZenPad 8.0, ZenPad S 8.0, ZenWatch 2 and the Zen AiO Series personal computers at the Computex 2015 event in Taipei.
The ZenFone Selfie is a 5 inch smartphone with a Full HD IPS display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 403 ppi density. It also features the octa-core 64 bit Snapdragon 615 chip and runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
The standout feature in the phone is the cameras. The primary as well as front cameras sport a 13MP reslution. While the primary camera is armed with a f/2.0 aperture, the front camera is equipped with an even better f/2.2 aperture which covers up to 140 degrees to take high quality panoramic selfies, a first for smartphones.
However, ASUS have not revealed the internal storage or RAM in the Zenfone Selfie. The pricing and the phone's availability in UK will also be revealed by ASUS in the near future.
The ZenPad 8.0 is an 8 inch tablet which will be available in both WiFi and LTE variants. Featuring an HD IPS display, the tablet contains ASUS' homegrown UI named ASUS VisualMaster suite. The suite contains Tru2Life and TruVivid which offer advanced image-processing and displays images and videos with sharp contrasts and clarity comparable with modern LCD TVs.
The ZenPad 8.0 also contains an integrated DTS Premium Sound™technology for superior audio quality and surround sound experience.
Weighing at 298g, the ZenPAd S 8.0 is another 8 inch tablet announced by ASUS with an optional Z Stylus. The 2K QXGA IPS display with 1536x 2048 resolution covers 178 degrees and a 334 ppi density for panoramic viewing. It also contains the ASUS VisualMaster suite and contains a 64-bit Intel® Atom™ Z3580 processor and a 4GB RAM.
