Sony Mobile today announced the Xperia Z3+, an upgraded variant of the original Xperia Z3.
Launched recently in Japan and christened Xperia Z4, the new phone's USP is that its cameras come with advanced technologies, a battery with new Stamina technology, an advanced processor and a new waterproof design.
The most comprehensive update in the Z3+ is the new Snapdragon 810 processor. Having been abandoned by Samsung and superceded by the Snapdragon 808 in LG's recently launched G4 flagship phone, it will be interesting to see if Qualcomm's processor rises like the phoenix with the Z3+.
Featuring support for advanced graphics along with faster processing, it will offer a much improved platform for users to multi-task and play high-definition games.
The front camera at 5MP is another major leap from the 2.2MP one in the Z3 and will help users click better selfies and make smoother video calls.
The primary camera at 20MP is the same as the one in the Z3 in terms of resolution. However, it comes with a lot of new features like the BIONZ™ mobile processing engine, the Exmor RS™ mobile image sensor, a 4K video recording and output capability along with Panorama clicking and touch-focus technology.
The new Stamina feature in the 2930 mAH battery also allows Sony to promise a 2-day battery life even though the battery is smaller than the 3100 mAH battery in the Z3. The smaller size can be attributed to a slimmer phone size while retaining the same display as in the Z3.
Here is the comprehensive specs comparison between the two gadgets that covers all that you need to know about Sony's latest gadget:
