Google’s next Chromebook hits stores next week!

Google is set to release the Chromebook Pixel 2 in UK from April 21. The new gadget will be available in Google Play Store and Dixons retail stores.

Running on the web-based Chrome OS, the Chromebook Pixel 2 will be available in two variants and the features will vary depending on which variant you would wish to buy.

The base model boasts an internal storage of 32GB, an impressive 8GB RAM and is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. This is complimented by a 12.85 inch touchscreen with  25660 x 1700 resolution, a full aluminium body, backlit keyboard and a glass trackpad.

The high-end model, as the name suggests, contains a superior Intel Core i7 processor along with a 64GB internal storage and 8GB RAM. It also packs a wide-angle camera and a 12 hour battery life.

Dual 60W USB-C ports will also allow users to connect two cables at the same time.

Both models will be available at £799 and £999 respectively.

The Chromebook Pixel 2 being lighter and less expensive than its predecessor seems to be Google's answer to Apple's Macbook which was launched at a much-talked-about event on 9th March.

Given that the release date is only a week away, how the next big bet from Google fares amongst the competition will be for all of us to see very soon.
