Just days before Apple's Watch hits stores in nine countries across continents, a new leaked memo issued by Tim Cook suggests Apple's employees in all these countries will get to avail 50 per cent discount on the standard Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Sport.
Posted on Apple's fan site 9to5Mac, the memo revealed Tim Cook saying 'I know that many of you have been looking forward to choosing an Apple Watch for yourselves, and we want to make it easy for you.
'Starting Friday a special Employee Purchase Plan will offer a 50% discount on any Apple Watch or Apple Watch Sport for your personal use.'
This means employees in the UK will be able to get their hands around the standard Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Sport at just £239.50 and £149.50 respectively.
Usually Apple's employees enjoy up to 30 per cent discounts on company products, however, in spite of the generous discounts on the Watch products, the elite Apple Watch Edition will not be part of the offer.
Going on sale on April 24, the Apple Watch will be available on discount for a period of 90 days starting Friday.
With a net worth set to hit the unprecedented $1 trillion mark if the Apple Watch fulfils expectations, Apple can surely set aside a few carrots for employees without much ado in the balance sheets.
