LG will let you test drive the G4 before you buy

LG Electronics will introduce its latest UX 4.0 user interface in its upcoming flagship the G4 followed by other devices later this year.

Dubbing the new interface as smarter, simpler and easier than previous interfaces, LG said that it will offer more configuration options for professionals.

What’s more, four thousand customers from 15 countries will get to ‘test drive’ the G4 days ahead of the official launch. Now that’s something.

The unique consumer experience campaign before a phone launch is something that we really don’t expect from most smartphone makers. While most prefer to keep the bacon hot at the time of release, LG’s move seems a way to market the G4’s performance to a wide user base by sharing real time reviews from customers themselves.

“We’re putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of a great user experience, beyond just benchmarks and speed tests,” says Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

 What's in it for you?

The new interface is bringing in several features for you that could change the way LG phones work.

If you tap the volume button on the back of the G4 twice, you will be able to take a picture even with the screen turned off. Now that's something a good snoop will like.

You can even toggle between professional, regular and simple camera modes depending on the type of picture you want to click or on your preferred pixel density.

The new interface will also pack some brain to work as a virtual assistant for you. Events and schedules logged in your social media accounts will automatically sync up with the calendar so that you can view all future schedules at one place.

Pictures taken at any event or a party will also get clubbed together in the photo gallery so you won't have to remember which picture was taken where.

Customers selected for the ‘test drive’ campaign which launched today in Korea will get to keep the G4 for thirty days and will be expected to perform several assignments and share their views online.

The G4 is set to be officially launched at multiple events hosted by LG across the world on April 28. Invitations sent out by LG have indicated a brown natural leather sheet for the G4, which isn't a bad thing if you are looking for a softer way to hold your phone.
