Chinese gadget maker Xiaomi looks set to unveil a new fashion product for women on the eve of its fifth anniversary at an event in China today.
A teaser image posted by Xiaomi on Weibo gave a clear indication of the company's plans. A pink image featuring a feminine dress with a bow signified that a new product for women is in the offing.
Whether it will be women-specific gadgets or fashion apparel is still a mystery and we expect more details to roll in once the event kicks off.
Xiaomi also posted an image of a 16GB Mi Pad in a turquoise backdrop while asking its customers “Let’s do some survey, what is your optimum and prefer screen size of Mi pad?” While the original 7.9 inch Mi Pad was released around the same time last year, Xiaomi could be hinting at launching a successor on the eve of its anniversary. Rumour suggests that Intel's new Atom chipset, launched at Mobile World Congress this year, could power the new Mi Pad instead of the NVIDIA Tegra K1 SoC that featured in the first Mi Pad.
Xiaomi also launched the $97 Redmi 2A hours before the event. Featuring a 4.7-inch 720p display and Leadcore chipset, the phone can run two SIMs at a time and is compatible with 4G LTE support. A primary 8MP camera and 1.5GHz quad-core CPU rounds up the device as an excellent value for price.
Along with these three products, we may also come across several other products getting launched like smartphones, multi-plug power sockets and other accessories. The much anticipated E4 as well as the Mi Note Pro could also feature in the event.
