Huawei has introduced its all new Huawei Watch featuring a classic round face with a diameter of 42mm along with a Sapphire glass surface at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today.
Featuring a completely stainless steel unibody, the Huawei Watch has been designed with a view to merge traditional looks with the most modern software to make it appealing as well as user-friendly. Huawei calls it a 'modern classic watch' which incorporated a sense of style as well as substance.
With Android Wear as the underlying operating system, the Huawei Watch has been designed to last longer than most modern smartwatches. Being corrosion proof and scratch resistant, the body is made up of 'cold forged stainless steel' that lasts longer and is extremely durable.
The 1.4 inch AMOLED display contains an excellent 286 PPI (pixels per inch) which is better than 247ppi in the LG G Watch and 260ppi in Motorola's Moto 360 smartwatch.
The Watch will contain functionalities like call notifications, messages, e-mail, calendar and smart tracking, as well as access to Facebook and Google Now.
As a fitness tracker, the device can also perform heart rate monitoring as well as single activity recording, as part of the new Huawei Health ecosystem. A six-axis motion sensor and a barometer to measure height are added functionalities that makes the Huawei Watch one of the finest fitness tracking smartwatches in the world.
To be available in 40 attractive and customisable watch faces, the Huawei Watch will be released by the middle of the year, Huawei, however, have not quoted any price as yet, though we expect it to be mentioned at least a month before the actual release date.
