With Mobile World Congress looming large over the smartphone industry, a flurry of updates have popped up about one of the most anticipated devices- HTC's next flagship!
Contrary to most expectations, the M9 could be launched at a separate event two weeks after the Mobile World Congress. The release dates and availability in other countries will be known during the launch event, if not before.
A recent update from @upleaks also suggested that the gadget may not be named the M9 after all. HTC could choose to name it the 'Hima' instead.
Even though this may not be consistent with the nomenclature pattern of HTC devices, people may get used to it soon if that is the case.
Another source suggested that the M9 may retain the size and weight of the predecessor M8 with dimensions of 144.3 x 69.4 x 9.56 mm. The full HD screen on the M8 will continue to feature in the M9 as well. However, a few reports also suggest that the M9 may don a QHD screen similar to the Nexus 6 and LG G3.
A new leak based on an HTC source claimed that the M9's design could draw inspiration from the Nexus 9. The black bar on which the HTC logo is placed may be removed and the logo could be placed beside the speaker at the bottom. Edge to edge glass panels will shield the speakers, leaving space for speaker slits at the top and bottom edges.
Yet another source describes the upcoming M9 to contain a larger display, thereby limiting the bezels and maintaining a higher screen-to-body ratio. A thinner frame is also on the cards though. The M9 may also come up with a new 'Gunmetal Gold' colour in addition to the existing Grey, Gold and Silver colours.
Even though most rumours about the HTC One M9 do not differ much from one another, HTC could anyway spring a few surprises that nobody could have predicted.
We are all ears!
