They are a big name in the world of televisions so it seems the right thing to do for LG to turn towards screen resolution as it's main priority in their next flagship-the LG G4.
A brand new leak has suggested that the upcoming LG device will feature a staggering 2880x1620 pixels in a 5.5 inch display.
A leaked model number 'LG-VS999' has been detected on its way to Verizon containing these specs, and has immediately caught the industry by surprise. In a market where 2k screen resolution is considered a benchmark for premium mobile phones, LG's supposed venture into the 3k zone marks a major revolution far ahead of it's time.

While some may question the need for such high-res specs in a mobile device, given the stellar performance of 2k displays, LG are obviously hoping to get to the finish line first. The upcoming G4, successor to the highly acclaimed G3, could be due for launch at the Mobile World Congress in March.

Along with the 3k display, the G4 is also rumoured to feature the new 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor as well as a LTE capability to support 4G networks.
