Huawei has finally announced the release of it's upcoming flagship- the Huawei Ascend P8.
The launch event will be held in London on 15th April.
The announcement perplexed many pundits who had believed the launch to be held during the Mobile World Congress in March.
Jerry Huang, Huawei's Director of Marketing Communications, broke the news to Trusted Reviews today.
The new Ascend P8 will be replacing the Ascend P7 that was released last year. Even though Huawei has stopped short of revealing the price or any specifications of the Ascend P8, sources claim that the new device has a larger 5.2 inch display, an octa-core HiSilicon 16nm Kirin 930chip and a 1080p resolution.
While most smartphone makers apart from Apple will display their new products at the Mobile World Congress in March, we are quite curious about Huawei's choice of the launch date.
The month-long delay could however provide an added boost after the other phones launched in March lose their novelty.
Even though we now know that the Ascend P8 will be making an appearance, we'll still need to wait for the actual release date.
Fingers crossed it'll be soon.
