Though word has been out for some time regarding the One M9, HTC's upcoming flagship's impending launch in March, the appetite of prospective buyers and geeks seems hardly satiated.
Recent reports suggest HTC is hyping up the upcoming MWC like never before. A new press release launched by HTC reads 'utopia in progress- Join us to see what's next' promises a lot but stops just short of confirming the launch.
A new series of leaks have made it known that the HTC One M9 is all set to sport the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor containing a 2GHz quad-core Cortex A57 and a 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex A53 setup.
The new processor will allow up to 3GB RAM as well as LTE connectivity. Another source suggested that the M9 may retain the size and weight of the predecessor M8 with dimensions of 144.3 x 69.4 x 9.56 mm.
The full HD screen on the M8 will continue to feature on the M9 as well. However, a few reports also suggest that the M9 may don a QHD screen similar to the Google Nexus 6 and LG G3. However, probably the most impactful feature could be the introduction of the Android Lollipop which will surely add a lot of new features in the phone's software.
Yet another source describes the upcoming M9 to contain a larger display, thereby limiting the bezels and maintaining a higher screen-to-body ratio. A thinner frame is also on the cards though.
The M9 may also come up with a new 'Gunmetal Gold' colour in addition to the existing Grey, Gold and Silver colours.
As far as stamina goes, the M9 could contain a larger battery pack inside a similar frame aka the M8. This would translate to longer battery life even under heavy usage. French tech website nowhereelse.fr has also joined the party recently by claiming that the M9 may sport only the 20MP rear camera along with a dual-LED flash. Even though most rumours about the HTC One M9 do not differ much from one another, HTC could anyway spring a few surprises that nobody could have predicted.
It is just about waiting and watching!
