YouTube to allow 360-degree videos on the site soon

By Jay Jay

YouTube may soon be allowing users to upload videos taken from special 360° cameras that may make use of virtual reality headsets.

360° cameras are new concepts and though there are several ways to shoot videos, it is unclear as to how YouTube will manage getting all types of videos to work on the site.

According to sources, a Google spokesperson recently suggested the new feature will appear in the coming weeks, however there has been no official mention on their press releases yet.

There may be a dampener for YouTube enthusiasts here- viewing 360° videos is near impossible for those using PCs o flat screens. Users with virtual reality headsets or more hi-tech goggles may be able to view such videos.

We can’t wait to hear from YouTube soon.
