Maintaining a spurt of product launches at CES, Sony has unveiled its new SmartWatch 3 edition, a stainless steel version of the SmartWatch 3 featuring a 1.6” TFT LCD Transflective display, a microUSB port, music playback, sensor technology, an in-built GPS sensor and water-proof protection.
The stainless steel version is unique in the smart watch industry, and one that Sony believes will deliver an aesthetic and premium look and feel to customers. The new SmartWatch 3 holder, also introduced at the CES this year, will allow users to customize the SmartWatch 3 with various wrist band options and compatible with most standard 24mm watch straps.
The stainless steel edition will be rolled out globally from next month onwards.
Additionally, customers will also be able to access Golfshot and iFit apps for track and course activities for the SmartWatch 3. Sony has also partnered with Virgin Atlantic to invest on smart wear products aimed on improving Virgin Atlantic customer experience.
Apart from the SmartWatch and its accessories, Sony has announced several more launches at the CES this year. The popular Android app Lifelog now has a new interface that helps set personal goals, monitor progress, and make choices on health, entertainment etc.
They also launched the Walkman ZX2 - a music playback device for the 21st Century capable of playing high definition audio files with a leather back and gold audio input. A 128GB internal storage will make sure all yur files have a safe home and memory is further expandable via micro-SD card. NFC-enabled, the ZX2 will set you back by an eye-watering £1000 ($1,199) but am sure the launch will be music to the ears of die-hard audiophiles!
